High Finance is not only made out of bigger numbers than finance.
High Finance is a completely different reasoning from Finance.
One used to illustrate this difference in reasoning by saying in Finance, if You are given a cheque, You verify whether it is funded or not. In High Finance, You verify the drawn bank is actually able to pay it without going bankrupt.
The world is increasingly complex and projects are not only larger but must respect increasingly more criteria. In example, 50 years ago a car simply had to be working, solid and beautiful. Ten years later, it had to consume less gas. Over time its characteristics of environment friendliness became increasingly important and nowadays it is a must. Therefore, projects’ complexity is strongly booming and more and more capital is required to be a player in a market, let alone be a big one. High Finance is the financial community’s answer to large capital needs.
